Gertie Restaurant
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, 2019
Gertie is a glass- and copper-clad restaurant that has been inserted into the ground floor of an existing Williamsburg building. The glass façade opens up to the immediate neighborhood, while its copper façade serves as a beacon for traffic on the nearby expressway. Within the restaurant, there is a community of complimentary spaces: the café is defined by bright accents, the dining room features a vaulted plywood ceiling, and the bar, which is elevated above the rest of the spaces, is characterized by its more intimate scale.
Recipient of Eater’s 2019 Design of the Year Award and selected as one of Thrillist’s Best New Restaurants of 2019
